Two pairs of trousers, a shirt and some tape
is all that he offered the sea
along with his money worn to thin
and his last identity
the planks on which he placed his trust
those cold and weary feet
setting forth from loss towards belief

The last sight of land, the darkening shade
the cold depths where life is discreet
that same sea on which in just ten days
two hundred souls found sleep
the surface whispers broken dreams
where hope fights desperately
to pitch it's chance into the rising wind
